Ayub medical college, Abbottabad, Pakistan was established in August 1978 and started functioning from 1st May 1979. At that time in the whole of Hazara with the population of 2.5 million, there were hardly 45 doctors while the need as per national standard was 500 and much more if we compare with developed countries. In Hazara we have now over 300 doctors, many of them qualifying from Ayub Medical College.
The campus of Ayub Medical College and Hospital Complex on Mansehra road comprises of modern buildings, hostels, a 1000 bedded teaching hospital along with other amenities. There is a Nursing school for 300 nurses and a Paramedical school for 200 paramedics. The college has been shifted to its new premises and was inaugurated by the President of Pakistan on 30th December 1990. The college is well equipped laboratories and Museums, a large well stocked central Library and the latest audio-visual and computer facilities.

Abbottabad
Abbottabad is the principal city of Abbottabad District in the Northwest Frontier Province of Pakistan. It is located 150 km north of Islamabad and 205 km from Peshawar, at an altitude of 4120 feet (1250 metres) above sea level. The city is located in the Orash Valley, and is known for its pleasant weather, educational institutes of high standards and military establishments. It remains a hub for tourism in the summer. |
